Set high in the alps above Lake Brienz, Schweibenalp is a peaceful sanctuary. The accommodations are rustic and cozy. Schweibenalp is also a permaculture center, and people from all over the world come to study permaculture there. You have never seen such an expansive permaculture garden.

Schweibehalp is truly a spiritual and healing place. It is peaceful, it is high up in the mountains, immersed in nature. Our great pleasures on retreat are walking, hiking, napping, practicing yoga, eating, reading, communing with each other and attending the yoga and meditation sessions (three sessions per day – morning, afternoon and evening).
I’m so excited to be returning to Casa Santo Stefano in Milieglia, Switzerland for my third summer. Casa Santo Stefano is located in Miglieglia, a charming, quaint Tessine village, lying on a sunny slope in the Malcantone district and it is the ideal setting for a retreat. It is owned by a lovely yogi couple, who have lovingly run it at a retreat center for more than 20 years.
The 18th century inn is nestled in the Swiss Alps and offers a beautiful village experience, with cobblestone paths leading to little churches and other historic dwellings. The region is known for it’s magnificent vistas and hiking. You can even take a gondola up the mountain side for a stunning 360 – degree view from the mountain top. In addition to hiking, during our free afternoons, we love to walk down to the river for sunbathing and swimming.

Things to Do
Casa Santo Stefano sits just above the beautiful lake front town of Lugano, a magical setting for shopping, site-seeing and visiting their stunning cathedral. We have one afternoon free of yoga, and you can drive down to Lugano, or take the bus down (about 30 min by bus) and spend the day. Other things to do are take the Monte Lema gondola up to the top of the mountain (the gondola is just right out the front door of Casa Santo Stefano), have a massage or go on one of the many hikes in the area.
The late-afternoon session will be a combination of yin and restorative yoga, as well as an exploration of alignment and deepening postures.
In between the morning and afternoon yoga sessions, we will have daily walks to one of three beautiful beaches, all just 5-minutes away by foot. Spend your time swimming in the sea, sunbathing or taking a personal excursion to Kioni or Vathy, one of the picturesque Island villages for shopping and cafes. There is also the opportunity for a guided island hike or you can simply relax at Itha108 – read, nap, receive a massage, etc.

- Three vegetarian meals per day
- Two yoga sessions on most days; the exceptions are on our first and last days, as well as on Wednesday, where the afternoon is free for you to take an excursion and explore the island if you wish
- Boat transfer from Kefalonia to Ithaca, and then from the boat terminal to Itha108, as well as the return on the last morning
Not Included
- Flights to Kefalonia

This stunning yoga venue is on the edge of the Cabo de Gata in Almeria, Spain, offering peace and isolation with a spectacular mountain backdrop.
Almeria is Spain’s sunniest region and one of the least visited. Its proximity to North Africa means that the area is semi-desert, dry and dramatic, with imposing mountains and dazzling sea.
The venue is on the edge of one of Europe’s most remote and beautiful natural parks, the Cabo de Gata, one of the last unspoiled stretches of Spanish coastline. It’s an amazing landscape of perfect half-moon bays, hidden coves, bizarre volcanic rock formations, and spectacular flora and fauna – a wonderful wild coastline.
The venue is in a peaceful, isolated location, but within walking distance of the lovely traditional local village of Nijar, which can be seen across the valley at the foot of the spectacular mountain backdrop. It is only half an hour from Almeria airport, served by several affordable airlines.
Costs:
Double shared room is 850 GBP per person
Private room is 995 GBP per person

Things to Do
Several sandy, secluded and unspoiled beaches can be found within approximately 30 minutes drive from the venue, inside one of Spain’s largest National Parks, the Cabo de Gata. Parasols and a picnic can be provided for a day out swimming and sunbathing.
There are several scenic walks straight from the Finca, of varying lengths, including up to the mountain village of Huebro via the Ruta del Agua, around 1.5 hours each way, following the spring-fed river past more than twenty small water mills, to the pool at the source of the water, where you can have a refreshing swim! So bring some trainers or walking shoes.
The city of Almeria is half an hour from Nijar. The 10th century Alcazabar is a fortified complex within Almeria city and is the largest Muslim fortress in Spain. The cathedral is also impressive. The pretty, local village of Nijar is within walking distance and offers a variety of craft shops and picturesque places to sit and have a drink al fresco. There is also a tennis court in Nijar, and a nearby hotel offers horse-riding.
