About the Weekend
This weekend is about giving yourself the gift of yoga, nourishing food and a gentle immersion into mindfulness-based practices, including taking time to slow down a bit as we move through our day. What if instead of having a daily routine, we had a daily ritual around our own self-care, caring for family and friends and doing our work. Life doesn’t have to move at an exhausting and overwhelming pace. We have a choice in how we respond to the demands life places on us, as well as meeting our need for balance, so that we remain healthy, vibrant and are able to enjoy this life!
So much can transpire in a single weekend, and we will take time to explore health, work-life balance, self care and living a life of meaning instead of overwhelm or busyness. Give yourself this gift of a weekend away!

A new component to the Women’s Weekend Retreat at the Yoga Lodge are cooking classes. Jodi and Aria, one of the Yoga Lodge chefs, met each other while Jodi was leading a weekend retreat at the center. The Yoga Lodge is a lovely, peaceful and extremely well cared for sanctuary. Such the perfect complement to this beautiful setting is Aria and her healthy, delicious and made-with-love food! Jodi was instantly drawn to Aria’s peaceful presence, and the retreat participants were so delighted with her gorgeous food. Everyone was asking for her recipes! Jodi and Aria decided the answer was to combine the practice of yoga with Ayurvedic cooking for a retreat weekend.
Our intention is to nourish you through the practice of yoga and beautiful food. The yoga practices will be dedicated to mindfulness, fluid asana and breath. For the cooking lesson, you will have one “hands-on” session where you will prepare an entire meal with Aria, and for the other meals, you will also be present in the kitchen, during the cooking class, but observing. All participants will receive printed copies of the recipes from Aria.
This retreat is held at the Yoga Lodge on Whidbey Island and is limited to 12 participants. All accommodation at the Yoga Lodge is shared. Pillows and blankets are provided for each person, but please bring your own sheets or sleeping bag. For environmental/water reasons, the Yoga Lodge cannot provide linens.

I am so excited about this retreat. The Cliffs of Moher is a stunningly beautiful and spiritual place. Our theme is Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation. A lovely week away by the vast seaside, fresh air and dramatic landscape.
About the Cliffs of Moher
This luxury retreat center is set against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cliffs of Moher and the beautiful countryside of County Clare, Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher is located on the west coast of Ireland along the country’s breathtaking coastline. The centre is set in pristine nature, with stunning views of the ocean and the cliffs.
The Daily Program
This is a true opportunity to unplug from daily life, live by the sea, breathe the fresh ocean air and immerse yourself in nature, yoga and reflection. We will begin each day with a mindfulness meditation at 7:00am. From 7:30 to 8:45am we’ll move through a fluid and meditative hatha flow yoga practice. Afterwards, from 9:00 to 10:00am, we’ll enjoy a healthy, seasonal and delicious breakfast.
From 10:30 to 11:30, there will be a walk along the cliffs. A beautiful and nourishing lunch is served at 1:00pm. You can then enjoy free-time until we meet again for afternoon yoga at 5:45 pm. Dinner is served at 7:30 pm.
Things to Do
Walking the Cliffs: Just outside the Cliffs of Moher gate you can walk on a variety of different loops of varying distance. There are walks with hills or without. Taking a left out the gate will bring you uphill towards the cliffs. To the right, you can do the low-lying loops around Clahane. The Cliffs of Moher Walk can be up to 14km long for those looking for a challenge. There are shorter sections that can be walked with ease, especially if you’re interested in simply taking a stroll.
Visiting Clahane: Just down the road by the water is Clahane. It is a small towns land of Liscannor with a famous little swimming hole. It is safe to swim here off the rocks. It’s a beautiful place to relax and read a book or even relax in the sun. Swimming is possible every day in the summer. There is an excellent loop walk coming straight out of the retreat which brings you along the water’s edge and then back again. It’s approximately 5km and a lovely way to get some fresh air and exercise. It’s not unusual to spot dolphins and porpoises here all year-round and it’s a great bay for snorkeling. Many Cliffs of Moher guests spend a lot of time here.
It’s possible to drive or take a taxi to Liscannor. a quaint little fishing village. It’s a wonderful place to explore and stop for a cup of tea. The pub fronts are beautiful representations of the old Irish village and Liscannor has a very old history. There is a pretty little harbour there but most people come to Liscannor to sample the fresh seafood caught out in the bay and to listen to the traditional Irish music held in some of the local pubs. It’s a wonderful way to sample rural village life. Just outside the village is Cill MacCreiche (Kilmacreehy) Church, one of the most ancient ecclesiastical ruins in County Clare. There is a beautiful beach walk right beside the church where you are likely to have the strand to yourself.
You can also walk to The Rock Shop, just five minutes away, a cafe and very unique gift shop – or take an excursion to nearby Doolin, considered the Mecca of Irish music, or to Lahinch, a seaside town with plenty of shops, pubs and cafes. Some prefer never to leave the natural beauty of the Cliffs of Moher retreat centre and simply relax in one of the many communal spaces during their free-time.
Accommodation at the Center
All of the rooms at the Cliffs of Moher are en-suite, apart from two rooms which share a large bathroom. All rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable mattresses and linens. Each room has a view – whether that is sea-view or countryside view. The rooms are all twin-share with two beds that can convert into a queen-sized bed for couples. Some of these rooms are available for single use. Please note priority of sea-view rooms is given to twin share use. There is storage space, shelf space and hanging space in each room, and all rooms are equipped with towels and a hair dryers.

“Heaven on earth” I have stayed for 5-day retreats on two occasions and will definitely go back.
The setting is just beautiful – nothing like an early morning meditation looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean to set you up for a great day. The retreat itself is in a perfect location, close to great beaches and breath-taking walks.
Michael and Michelle have clearly put so much thought and work into the facilites and into the content of the retreats. As you can tell from all reviews, the food is just fantastic; always tasty and nourishing and there is plenty of it! I have travelled on my own on both occasions and have found that you can have as much or as little company as you want during your stay. There is a very easy going and relaxed atmosphere. If you wish, you can just go to classes and take time out to read your book. On the other hand, if you want to try everything from classes, to surfing, to hill walking & holistic treatments then this is the place for you too.
Here you will get to stop and spend time on yourself, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You cannot but feel great & completely re-energised after a stay here.”

Michelle and Michael made me feel like home from the very first minute of my arrival. Lovely cozy warm rooms, very modern and clean. The view of the countryside and The Atlantic Ocean are just breathtaking. Incredible food from Hugo. I’m not a vegetarian, but food was absolutely delicious and every meal was just amazing – full of flavour and goodness.
On Sat during our ‘free time’ I went surfing to Lehinch, which is just down the road. Before I went Hugo was very helpful with finding the right surf spot for the day and on the return Michael was very helpful with washing out my wetsuit etc – little things, but they make all the difference 🙂
I will definitely come back again and will look forward to meeting these beautiful people again.”

The daily program
Join Jodi and Nancy for 7 days of revitalising yoga at the beautiful Masseria. A wonderful opportunity for you to relax your mind, rejuvenate your body and reawaken your spirit in beautiful Puglia Italy. You will enjoy two yoga classes daily which focus on movement, breath and relaxation.
The day will begin with a flowing and dynamic asana class in the light and airy yoga space. After the morning session breakfast will be served on the terrace. The group will meet again in the late afternoon for a more relaxing and restorative class. There will be one yoga free day.
Things to Do
Puglia is an enchanting part of Italy with many interesting historical towns to visit, fabulous walks and bike rides to go on and up to 50 miles of beautiful coastline to explore.
The region boasts spectacular Italian cusine and some of the the most unspolit environments in Italy so you are sure to find something to enjoy during this break.
Between classes there will be plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings. Relax by the pool, explore the local area by bicycle or on foot. Take a trip to the beach or local towns. Boat trips and ayurvedic massage can also be arranged for you. We guarantee you will go home feeling refreshed and re-energised.
About Jodi & Nancy
I am delighted to be teaching together with Nancy Lea at the Masseria Della Zingara this summer, a gorgeous getaway in the south of Italy. Nancy is pure joy, and she and I met while teaching together at Yogalife a few years ago. I was immediately drawn to her warmth and authenticity, as well as to her beautiful way of teaching – a very fluid and nourishing style of hatha yoga. Our teaching styles complement each other, as well as our passion for the philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga, which we both infuse into our teaching. I’m looking so forward to taking a group to the south of Italy for a week of yoga, sunshine, pristine nature and beautiful Italian food. Please join us!
The accommodation at Masseria della Zingaria is comfortable and of an extremely high quality – most of the rooms have ensuite facilities. Camping is also possible for those on a tighter budget. Tents are provided and facilities include a communal shower, toilet and wash basin nearby.

There are many agents dealing with flights to Italy, it is a good idea to book a flight as soon as possible to get the best deals. Ryanair, Easyjet and British Airways offer affordable flights to Bari and Brindisi, the closest airports.

Join me for a Yoga Retreat at beautiful Schweibenalp. Take time for yourself to practice yoga, immerse in nature and enjoy the company of a beautiful yoga community. This week will truly be one of reconnecting with yourself, with nature and putting life and what is most important to you into perspective – a Spiritual Getaway.
The Daily Program
Our mornings will begin with an active Hatha Flow yoga practice. In a meditative way, you’ll be guided deeply inward through asana, conscious breathing, music and inspirational readings.
Schweibenalp lies in the middle of the Bernese Oberland Alps on a high plateau, 1100m above sea level, at the border of the Giessbach Gorge. There is a breath taking view of the Rothorn mountain chain and the Brienz lakes. The steep Giessbach waterfalls, alpine meadows, forest, lakes and streams invite you to explore, stop and enjoy nature’s beauty.
The kitchen of Scweibenalp lovingly prepares vegetarian, and as much as possible, organic cuisine. The center has its own permaculture garden, from which we will enjoy freshly picked herbs, vegetables and fruits. There are two meals per day and all meals are served buffet-style. If you wish, in addition to the buffet meals, organic snacks are always available for an additional charge.
The rooms of Schweibenalp are cozy and comfortable, with names like Silence, Jungle Whisper and Sun Room. Each room has its own creative design and touches, making them all unique. Bathrooms are shared and located on the same floor as the guest rooms. There are some private rooms, some shared rooms and some dorm rooms.

The late-afternoon session will be a combination of yin and restorative yoga, as well as an exploration of alignment and deepening postures.
In between the morning and afternoon yoga sessions, we will have daily walks to one of three beautiful beaches, all just 5-minutes away by foot. Spend your time swimming in the sea, sunbathing or taking a personal excursion to Kioni or Vathy, one of the picturesque Island villages for shopping and cafes. There is also the opportunity for a guided island hike or you can simply relax at Itha108 – read, nap, receive a massage, etc.
